Extraordinary hotels and restaurants

Camille Oostwegel Sr, embarked on his first restaurant operation in 1980, leading to the formation of the family business, Oostwegel Collection. In 2015 he took more of a back seat to allow his son to master the intricacies of running the business. The role of Owner and Managing Director was handed over to Camille Oostwegel in 2020, with his father becoming a member of the Supervisory Board, putting his gardening expertise to good use and providing cultural tours for the collection. The family connection does not stop there. Two daughters work within the business, as does Meredith Stark-Oostwegel in her role as Director of Brand & Marketing.

Founder of Oostwegel Collection, Camille Oostwegel Sr was born in 1950 and raised in South Limburg. From a young age he showed great interest in culture, history and gastronomy, which led to him attending Hoge Hotel School in Maastricht. Later he joined the French Accor Group in 1972, achieving director status at 25 years old. In 1980 he embarked on his first restoration project, which led to the foundation of the Oostwegel Collection family business. Under his keen eye he has restored a dozen national monuments, many now feature as hotels and restaurants, alongside parkland, gardens and nature reserves. At the beginning of January 2020, he handed the baton to his son, but maintains his seat on the Supervisory Board of Oostwegel Collection.
