A new chapter
What started as the renovation of the château’s roof, led to the expansion of Château Neercanne to incorporate seven stunning suites. Just over 75 years since the château’s last resident sold the property, the castle is again ready to have visitors sleeping under its roof. With the suites opening in March 2024, a long-held wish will come true: that the 17th-century estate will enrich each guest’s experience with an unforgettable stay.

PRESERVING HISTORY
“ Centuries ago, Château Neercanne served as a Meuse valley Renaissance castle. The gatehouse with its tower is a remnant of this period. Witnessing this oldest part of the property transform into modern-day accommodation was truly wonderful.”
– Camille Oostwegel, Owner and Managing Director Oostwegel Collection
With the maintenance of the castle’s slate roofs, the château was covered in scaffolding. Turning necessity into opportunity, the team decided to develop seven high-end suites. Adding to an already exceptional hospitality mix of the Château Neercanne Michelin star restaurant, the Bib Gourmand-awarded L’Auberge and a unique location for celebrations, it makes a stay at the terraced castle a one-of-a-kind experience.
Floortje’s ambition is to prepare Oostwegel Collection for the future. The world of HR can be very traditional, however Floortje has made it her personal mission to prove that the sector can be so much more than that. She is not only here to facilitate – she is here to inspire.
BE PRESENT IN THE NOW
“ The wallpaper reflects the lines of the landscaped garden in front of the château. The colours and patterns of the surrounding Jeker Valley are incorporated in the suite’s textiles. This technique of layering creates a journey of discovery that is translated differently in each room.”
– Roelfien Vos, interior desginer
In her design for the seven Auberge accommodations, Roelfien Vos combines a contemporary style with classical details. Maintaining the original while simultaneously exploring the modern. It makes for an interior with its own unique rhythm. A pace in which guests are not bound by time. A setting that makes them even forget about it. Calm, composed, and captivating.
FUTURE PROOF
“ My ambition is to let Château Neercanne flourish into the most luxurious country estate of the Maastricht region. This renovation contributes to that goal immensely. Sustainability is an inextricable part of that mission: making sure we run our business in a mindful way.”
– Pierre Haenen, General Manager and Host, Château Neercanne
The suites are nestled within a UNESCO-listed baroque garden with views of the stunning Jeker Valley. Staying at Château Neercanne contributes to our cultural heritage. In this way, we ensure future generations will be able to enjoy our estate and the environment as much as we do.
