Introducing Italian cuisine
The addition of Winselerhof to Oostwegel Collection in 1986 raised the question of what gastronomic formula to implement. While French cuisine was the default food concept at the time, we were looking for something new for our rustic farmhouse. A combination of the emergence of Italian restaurants in Aachen, an inspirational trip to Tuscany and the Parkstad region’s Roman heritage formed the inspiration for one of the first Italian restaurants in The Netherlands.
Deriving its name form Sicilian writer and keen amateur chef, Luigi Pirandello (1867 – 1936), our restaurant takes you on a genuine gourmet tour of Italy, accompanied by panoramic views of the farmhouse’s thriving vineyard. To this day the dishes are pure, simple and always superb – a true reflection of authentic Italian cuisine
