Ancient manor farmhouse

Winselerhof's story
.

Farming ancestry

1155

.

Records show that Winselerhof is the oldest farm in the Landgraaf region dating back to the 12th century.

Transformation

A vineyard legacy

.

The property's name is derived from the German word for wine grower. Several iterations have emerged over the years, including in 1312 "Wenselen", 1489 "Zo der Wientzelen", 1706 "Wintzelen", 1752 "Wentzlerhoff", 1785 "Wenzelerhoff" and finally "Winselerhof".

Evolution

Farmhouse construction

.

Owned by Count of Saffenburg, the property was originally thatched roofed and built from field firebrick and timber frame, where the quadrangle footprint housed farm animals and the owners residence.

Winselerhof reimagined

Inspired reinvention

.

In June 1985 Camille Oostwegel Snr commenced renovation of the property, preserving its authentic historical self and celebrated its opening in September 1986, as a boutique country retreat.
